Homework? It exists here?

Since getting back from France on Sunday not much really happened and I actually had schoolwork to do for the past few days.  Its the first time I have ever done any work since arriving here almost a month ago.  On Monday I had a trip to Chipolte for my global marketing class.  The Chipolte in London is the first one in Europe and it’s a tester for the company.  There is not much of a difference between Chipolte in London and Chipolte in the United States except that it has smaller portions and it is more expensive.  The restaurant was not nearly as crowded to my usual location near AU (even at peak lunch time hours), which could mean that the brand will not be as successful in the UK.
After the class trip I went back to Metrogate to write my paper for British Life and Cultures, which wasn’t too hard and was only about three pages long.  Unfortunately I had a midterm earlier today so the remainder of my day yesterday and this morning was spent studying.  In the end it was a pretty easy test and I could have gotten by with much less studying.
The most exciting things that happened this week were news from people outside of London.  I was glad to hear that my Fraternity at AU (Alpha Kappa Psi) took a pretty large and strong pledge class and most importantly my old roommate Greg is out of Cairo.  Chances are that if you know me pretty well, you know my freshmen and sophomore year roommate Greg, who was basically put on the planet to drive me crazy.   Anyway he was studying abroad in Cairo in the midst of all the protests and my friends and I have not heard from him for over a week since Internet and phones were shut down in Egypt.  This afternoon I skyped with him from Turkey, where he was evacuated to by the US Government.  I was worried all week and I’m glad to hear he is safe and alive, although he had a bunch of crazy stories.  He was tear-gassed multiple times, was shot at with real bullets and had to hide in a mosque and saw about 6 people drop dead right in front of him.  If I knew it was actually that dangerous last week when he was there I would have probably freaked out, so good thing facebook was shut off.  Scary stuff, but he is doing fine and is currently looking for alternate study abroad programs.
So yea basically nothing happened in the last few days in London.  I am off to Edinburgh, Scotland tomorrow for the weekend and I’ll update everyone on Sunday about my trip.
